Clawson on GOP Budget: "It's a Good First Step."

Press Release

Date: March 25, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

The House passed the GOP Budget plan -- A Balanced Budget for a Stronger America - for FY 2016, with the support of Congressman Curt Clawson (FL-19), by a vote of 219 to 208.

Following the vote, Clawson stated:

"Today's plan puts us on a path to balance the budget in ten years, defunds ObamaCare, calls for the simplification of the tax code, and protects our national defense threatened by the 2012 budget sequester. These are all good first steps, and shows that when Leadership listens to solutions-based ideas from conservatives in Congress, we can emerge with a governing formula. There is still a long way to go to bring our fiscal house in order, but this plan brings spending in line with revenues so that Washington starts living within its means and we can begin to pay down the national debt. All of this is critical to growing our economy."
